Who we are 😀

Hi everyone!

The new website has been up and running for a few days so I thought I’d jot a view lines down and briefly explain who we are. My name is Nigel and obviously you’ve realised that I’m English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. My wife Kine, is Norwegian🇳🇴.

We took over Gråberget approximately 5 years ago, having lived in Løten and Brasskeridfoss previously.

The total property size is 144mål but only a third of that is allocated to the dog park at this time. We used to keep our horses here at first. But we soon found that walking our dogs in the forest on the other side wasn’t quite safe enough due to the low old sheep fence. It’s an equally stunning area with a little lake but our dogs soon found out how easy it was to jump the fence. Obviously this wasn’t ideal so 3 years ago plans were made to make our own little safe haven.

The park took us 7-8 months to build. It wasn’t easy.😅😅 Not only did we have to remove and replace all the old sheep fence. We had to clear decades of overgrowth and trees before we could even reach it. It was a nightmare. Hammering 2.5m posts into rock didn't workout very well. 😆

We'd never planned to open it up to the public to be honest. But we had so many people stop by and compliment on what we were doing, what a good idea it was and how lucky our dogs were, we said to ourselves, there's no other facilities for dogs to run safe in the area, why don’t we open it up to everyone.

So two years ago Gråberget Hundepark was born 😃
